Sr. VMWare Engineer Location: Cambridge, MA Duration: 6 Month Contract
Client is looking for someone who can help in planning and executing migrations across a variety of platforms and architectures. Execute changes according to established change management practices. The ideal candidate has strong VMware Server administrative background and proven experience in working on a variety of virtualization projects. Minimum Requirements: Strong experience working with VMware vSphere technologies, specifically in the areas of P2V and V2V migrations, vMotion, Storage vMotion, DRS and HA. (Candidates with VCP4 preferred) Experience with vCLI scripting as related to ESX host administration a plus. Working knowledge of Enterprise SAN architecture, protocols, and best practices (HP, NetApp) Working knowledge of Enterprise LAN/WAN network architecture, protocols, and best practices (Cisco certification or equivalent a plus) Experience administering Windows Server 2K+ and Linux (certifications a plus) Experience administering SQL Server 2005 Experience trouble shooting multi-tier environments Experience with Enterprise monitoring systems (Nagios a plus) Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to interface with all team members (technical and non-technical) Self-motivated with outstanding organization and attention to detail. Experience working with teams in different time zones and coordinating duties to coincide with global operation schedules.
