**************NEED ONLY LOCAL************* Position Summary: Client is in need of a mid level Oracle DBA to install 11g and upgrade existing databases to 11g, upgrade RMAN from 10.2.0.x to 11G, provide tuning SQL related to DBA*s tasks, monitor and respond to database problems and emergencies and assist with various automation projects and initiatives using PLSQL and Perl. Required skills: Excellent working knowledge of Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g internals and database administration tasks. Thorough understanding and at least 5 years hands on experience of RMAN . Install 11g and upgrade databases to 11g Upgrade RMAN from 10.2.0.x to 11G Thorough understanding and at least 5 years hands on experience of cloning Oracle databases using non RMAN and RMAN methods. Thorough understanding and at least 5 years hands on experience of writing and tuning SQL related to DBA*s tasks. Thorough understanding and at least 5 years hands on experience of installing Oracle database software, applying patches and upgrading databases using both database upgrade utility and manually. Thorough understanding and at least 5 years hands on experience of writing kshell scripts, enhancing existing kshell scripts as needed and directed by senior dba to automate routine database administration tasks. Thorough understanding and ability to read PLSQL code as and when needed to help developers tune. Ability to write PLSQL and Perl code as to automate various dba tasks. Thorough understanding and installation/configuration experience of OEM. Ability and flexibility to adapt to preferred methods/procedures used at LBL for dba tasks where needed. Ability and willingness to research and find solutions to problems quickly. Ability and flexibility to be a team player. Willingness to carry pager on rotation basis to provide backup to senior dba.
