Requirements: BENEFIT ANALYST BCBSM, Benefit Information & Policy Delivery Department is committed to providing its users with accurate benefit information in a timely manner. The goal of this project will be to expand and improve our current on-line reference for structured benefit information. We need energetic individuals with benefit related subject matter expertise to join our team. Senior Benefit Analyst level contract resource will support the following activities in support of National Health Care Reform and the benefit changes it will require: 1. Support modifications to CAREN IVR application. Requires review of local certs/riders/plan mods and NASCO plan detail reports to determine impacts and changes. 2. Benefit Configurator Explainer Benefit Rule changes to support local migrated groups and National groups deployed to Explainer for servicing. 3. Suggested rate of pay $56.00 an hour for 1040 hours to start as soon as possible. All vendor applicants will be reviewed and chosen applicants interviewed as soon as possible. Responsibilities: * Researches benefit information using a variety of electronic sources. * Conducts analysis to identify and resolve issues related to member benefit package information. * Captures consistently structured benefit package information, including rules regarding subscriber liability and covered services and associated limitations and maximums, in summary form and also down to the code level of detail using custom applications. * Conducts quality assurance to ensure that the documentation is accurate and consistent. * Conducts user acceptance testing of web applications used to present benefit information to users. REQUIRED * 5+ years experience in health care, health insurance and/or benefit administration. * Has 2-5 years experience with processing significant amounts of information with high levels of accuracy. * Ability to follow a pre-defined process and work under minimal supervision. * Task oriented and committed to task completion within expected timeframes. * Has consistently communicated (both written and verbal) difficult or complex ideas clearly and effectively. * Proficient with MS Excel and Access. * Proven ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. * Passionate about data integrity. * Quick learner of custom tools/applications.
