The Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system administrator functions as a
team member of the project team and/or as a major contributor/subject matter
expert responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of
HFM and FDM (Financial Data Management) applications.* *This position will
work with the project team to ensure HFM/FDM system is available and
accessible to financial users domestically and internationally.
The HFM system administrator occupies a key role in the Finance team. The
HFM system administrators function as integrators between business needs and
technology solutions, providing the interface between the finance and IT
divisions to ensure successful implementation and support efforts.
General Summary: The HFM system administrator updates and maintains
business/financial systems including exporting/importing of files into the
HFM application. Develops requirements and specifications and carries out
project tasks to develop, design, automate, compile, prepare and test
reports. May be responsible for planning, organizing and managing workflow,
and/or act as project manager. This position need to resolve complex
issues.
Key Responsibilities:
As a participant of our overall HFM / FDM development team:
Develop and maintain all technical aspects of the HFM / FDM Application
which includes constructing metadata and logic changes, data import
routines, web form and business rule development, report development and
general system maintenance.
· Build and modify reporting systems and create complex reports for
global users
· Proactively review application design and make recommendations for
design enhancements.
· Participate in overall effort to ensure HFM and FDM applications
are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and
established methodologies and practices.
· Troubleshoot and resolve HFM and FDM user questions and issues
where possible and work with the IT department to address issues that might
require joint attention.
· Develop and update training documentation.
· Monitor and report to project management on the status of project
efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of
project goals and implementing corrective action.
· Ensure overall system stability of HFM and FDM applications
General duties and responsibilities:
- Meet internal and external CPM information needs of the organization
according to established standards, including problem research/resolution
and customer education.
· Support the close and reporting processes and monthly system
maintenance cycles.
· Help management develop strategic goals and objectives for the
system.
· Advise business partners on the best way for the reporting systems
to accommodate changes/new requirements.
· Analyze requests for changes, new requirements to production
system, determine impact on existing systems processes and develop
appropriate specifications, enhancements and/or procedures to comply.
· Influence others to operate in a more cost-effective manner.
Provides technical guidance on more complex issues.
The position will also be responsible for continued development &
maintenance of the FDM application.
· Designing & prototyping, testing, training, defining support
procedures and implementation.
· Develop logic and methodologies for mapping tables, loading data,
designing logic groups, creating import scripts, etc.
· Provide technical guidance to users and management.
*Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:*
The following experience will be key to a successful candidate:
· Business knowledge of financial accounting processes
· Experience with consolidation and reporting using HFM
· Experience with data transformation tools such as ODI and FDM
· Experience with MaxL and Esscmd (Essbase scripting languages)
· Experience with scripting in an Essbase environment
· Experience with Hyperion reporting tools (Hyperion Reports,
Smartview, Web Analytics)
Knowledge of additional technologies is a plus:
· Experience integrating with data from the Oracle E-Business Suite
· Experience with VB Script
Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word,
Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and/or SQL

The qualifications for the position are:
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology
· Minimum of 5 years related system/finance experience
· Prior experience with Hyperion products (System Administrator a
plus)
· Strong functional background of accounting processes
· Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
