The Windows Systems Engineer in the IT Shared Services group manages production Windows servers that provide web, database and application services for Intranet and Internet users. Works with development groups to upgrade and maintain existing and new Windows based infrastructure. Provides assistance in the design and integration of applications and infrastructure components using industry accepted best practices. Other duties include serving as a system engineering resource for operations and deployment activities, and providing administration and technical support services for database and applications development groups. This includes system installations, upgrades, configuration management, security configuration, patches, customization of middleware environments, troubleshooting, and crash recovery. System Administration experience on Windows Operating Systems. Linux and UNIX experience also a plus. . Strong troubleshooting skills at both the Application, OS, and Network levels . Application / Web Server experience (WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS) . Experience with supporting applications and their associated development teams and end-users within a high availability production environment . Experience with supporting servers (both Windows and Linux) within a VMWare Infrastructure . Windows scripting experience . Experience with administering Directory Services (Active Directory, LDAP, etc) . Experience in supporting Citrix environments . Ability to support off-hours work shifts (nights/weekends) for operational tasks such as system maintenance and application upgrades . Must have strong communication skills as well as ability to document procedures .
