*Position Summary*

This is a technical hands-on IT Asset Management position providing services
to the IT infrastructure organization.  The position takes full ownership of
the asset management tools and technology which involves operating,
maintaining and training others on its use.  Leads in the tracking,
procuring, contracting, and inventorying of IT items in support of
infrastructure projects and provides consultation and analytics for impact
to business and application portfolios; ensures alignment to asset
management standards and strategy.  Ensures IT asset management standards
and practices are followed through project and program engagement by
interfacing with the Change Management process. Ensures asset management
processes are flexible and support the business and operational needs by
maintaining an understanding of strategies and knowledge of infrastructure
capabilities. Work ranges from: The acquisition of IT technology assets;
Management and engagement with vendor for the contracted services through
the life cycle of the technology asset; Interfacing and aligning with
3rdparty organizations such as the Finance Dept; Strategic analysis of
the use
of the assets within the frame-work of its deployment; Hands-on use of IT
asset management technology tools to report the use of the assets in order
to make recommendations, and ensure compliance and optimization of the
investment.

This position will also require the successful candidate to be on call 24x7
for the purpose of hands-on engagement during incident management events.
To provide any asset data required to rapidly solve issues as well as
escalation and the engagement of vendors and service providers to expedite
incident and problem resolution.



The candidate should possess a hands-on background in dealing with
technology and with peers in the finance department as well as peers in the
IT organization that include; IT architects, IT engineers, IT operations as
well IT compliance.  The candidate should also be capable of working with
vendors and external groups to complete tasks and projects.

Job Qualifications

*Required:*

o   Extensive experience in related areas including 5+ years of hands-on
technical experience in IT Asset Management or related work.

o   A Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
is required.

o   Hands-on technical experience using LANDesk is required. This includes;
patching and upgrading of the LANDesk system and associated servers,
performing mass uploads, asset reporting.

o   Hands-on experience with LANDesk Managed Planet add-on software is
preferred.

o   Experience in working with vendors, partners and customers and
evaluating requests for service.

o   Experience with managing service contracts.

o   Experience working with Telecom Circuit management and telecom
management vendors.

o   Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in using and compiling
complex spreadsheets (complex formulas, logical sorting, filtering, macros,
vlookups, data merging) and running database queries.

o   Working knowledge of current IT technologies, understanding of systems,
storage, network & security implementation considerations and dependencies
and possess exposure in a wide range of information technology including:

o   Operating Systems (UNIX, Windows, Z/OS, Linux)

o   Database (Oracle, SQL)

o   Data Center Consolidations, and Optimization

o   Virtualization Technology (Server, Storage, Desktop)

o   E-Commerce Network Design and Protocol

o   SAN/NAS (EMC, NetApps)

o   Directory Services (LDAP, Active Directory, Exchange)

o   Information Technology Hardware

o   Network and Security (Cisco, Nokia, CheckPoint,RSA)

   - Strong interpersonal skills and communications ability both written and
   verbal.



*Desirable:*

o   IT Governance, SOX, PCI, SAS70 Type II, and SEC compliance
understanding.

o   Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) preferred

o   Certified Software Asset Management (CSAM) preferred

o   Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) preferred

o   ITIL Certification preferred

Job Duties    **

o   Own and Operate Asset Management tools (LANDesk) to track assets and
analyze data

o   Perform standard on ad-hoc reporting and analysis of IT Asset management
information for management and Technical staff as needed.

o   Work with vendors on audit and verify their inventories to ensure proper
coverage and management of systems and infrastructure

o   Interface with Finance departments and other 3rd parties to ensure
alignment in all IT Asset Management activity. Work with management to
review IT software / hardware resources and generate the respective asset
reports; both standard and ad-hoc

o   Develop, implement and refine asset management processes and procedures.
Optimize asset control and inventory management processes to track
accountability identification, location, maintenance, contracts and
lifecycle status. This includes licenses, warranties, and service agreements
for the organization's hardware and software.

o   Minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and
tracking. Improve productivity and maximize ROI by minimizing IT Service,
hardware and software costs.

o   Ensure compliance with all software licenses agreements and software
usage. Perform audits on assets and IT services provided by our service
providers/partners and lead all vendor initiated audits.

o   Conduct inventories and reconcile all technology assets with current IT
Asset and financial databases.  Perform audits with other 3rd parties that
manage Bowne IT assets.

o   Participate in procurement activities and negotiation as required. Also
participate in effectively managing asset disposal agreements and disposal
of aged assets.

o   Work with IT management in the budgeting process by providing
intelligence on asset inventory to identify hardware and software to be
purchased.

o   Works with company staff and management to develop and maintain positive
relationships with third party vendors and leasing companies.

o   Communicate technical and financial issues in both written and verbal
form to a variety of audiences as well as interface with other teams and
customers effectively.

o   Responsible for responding to IT operations related content for RFP and
customer questionnaires
