*****Immediately Needed A Consultant***** VMS Principal Developer Location: Acton, MA Duration: 3-6 Months Contarct Description: The OpenVMS Principal Developer will port our client's current Client API, currently supported on Red Hat, Solaris, and Windows, to the OpenVMS operating system. The candidate should have strong experience developing high-performance applications, as maintaining our client's current performance level is critical to this project’s success. This API will only be ported to C. As an OpenVMS Principal Developer, you will be responsible for the porting, with technical support from senior engineers. Responsibilities: Architecture/Design: Write a Design Specification, detailing differences on OpenVMS that might affect performance. Contribute to a design review to validate the design. Development: ( The ideal candidate will have experience developing in iterative Agile ) Must write well-documented code. Must support logging for tracing, performance, and diagnostic recording capabilities, conforming to existing infrastructure as needed. You should provide your own laptop for code development. Our client will provide access to appliances for development and test. The ideal candidate will have access to an OpenVMS development platform. Develop sample applications for: QA functional / performance test and validation of the API. Customer sample applications to demonstrate using the API. Work with test automation engineers to support the development of automated test applications. Conduct code reviews of all contributions. Requirements: Expert on OpenVMS and real-time programming. Experience with POSIX development. UDP / TCP / SSL expertise. Knowledgeable on Message orientated Middleware. Familiar with Intel Itanium architecture. Experienced developing client APIs.
