Job Title: AbInitio Developer Location: NYC, NY Duration: 3-6 Months+ Availibility: IMM JOB DESCRIPTION: This is an ambitious search engine project which has extended traditional search functionality to include complex structured data and symbology. It is believed to be the most complex and demanding use that has ever been made of a search engine. Main Responsibilities: 1. Understand business and technical requirements, and translate these into high quality Ab Initio-based solutions 2. Understand the structure of content feed files from feed providers. 3. Ingest and transform content feed files, store the output in intermediate repositories, and create output files intended for the search engine 4. Build components in an Ab Initio Continuous Flows environment to ingest messages sent through a message-oriented middleware bus 5. Create solutions for full and incremental content loading 6. Use Java or .NET to create ancialliary solutions outside of Ab Initio to assist in end-to-end processing 7. Troubleshoot issues 8. Provide best practices guidelines for scalability and performance 9. Provide guidance to other Ab Initio developers when needed, including code reviews Required Skills: 1. Advanced Ab Initio Development – candidate MUST be a superstar and should have latest version expertise. Need to know the following components within Ab Initio: GDE, EME, and Co Op. 2. Java or .NET programming (Ad Initio expertise is most important then slight pref to Java as should have this exp considering Solaris is required) 3. Advanced Solaris (Version 10 required) 4. At least 7 years of total development experience 5. Strong business and technical communication skills, verbal and written 6. Ability to work well in a team environment 7.
