*Job Title:         Linux Administration and Stabilization Specialist*

*Description:*

This position works as part of a business consulting team to analyze,
define, build, and support the automation of server configuration and
deployments in the client’s environment.  The Linux Administration and
Stabilization Specialist understands and resolves business and technical
issues.  Interacts with infrastructure team, generates client deliverables,
and works with a focused project team to design and deliver high-quality
results to the client.

*Skills & Responsibilities:*

   - Minimum of 5-7 yrs. in IT Infrastructure – at least 3 years in Linux
   Administration
   - Must have LINUX RedHat Certification (RHC)
   - Experience with scripting and automation tools for server configuration
   and deployment
   - Develops best practice standards for Linux environment, including
   directory structures, logging, monitoring, and configuration management
   - Develops best practice deployment patterns for Linux servers
   - Proactively looks at adapting current architecture to meet future
   needs.
   - Work with client SMEs to design/develop “gold configuration”, then
   automate and deploy to multiple servers using scripting and automation tools
   - Identifies configuration components that can be shared across business
   applications
   - Identifies the impact of proposed changes at a system level and on
   interfacing systems.
   - Helps define and approve standards related to core infrastructure
   areas.
   - Assists team in defining infrastructure solutions and defining
   large-scale infrastructure decisions.
   - Conducts thorough system test of new or upgraded infrastructure
   components.
   - Works with application development teams to validate new or updated
   architecture components.
   - Assists the project manager with the development of the project plan
   and assists in assignment of resources to project tasks and activities.
   - Recommends plan changes necessary to keep the project on schedule.
   - Conducts walkthroughs with the developers for standards compliance,
   performance considerations and correct use of infrastructure components.
   - Communicates clearly the impact on other systems of proposed new
   infrastructure components or modifications.
   - Works with project team to gather requirements, answer questions and
   resolve issues.
   - Communicates infrastructure needs and directions with management.



*Preferred Qualifications:*

   - Strong in-depth understanding of Linux platform – Linux RedHat
   Certification Required.
   - Experience creating custom RPMs for use deploying builds via the
   Satellite server
   - Experience with Redhat Linux Kickstart and Solaris Jumpstart
   - Knowledge of Oracle Database running on Linux platform
   - AIX Platform knowledge is nice-to-have
   - Strong written and verbal communication skills
   - Strong level of attention to detail, both in technical tasks and with
   project deliverables/documents
   - Displays willingness to accept responsibility displays initiative, good
   judgment, and a positive attitude.
   - Demonstrated ability to act decisively and promptly
   - Experience with scripting tools for Linux platform
   - Experience automating configuration and deployment scripts in an
   infrastructure environment
