Complete Description:
The candidate will be involved with the planning, design, and
implementation of the overall IT Security architecture to protect the
DOES IT infrastructure. Coordinate and execute IT security projects.
Develop and publish information security policies, procedures,
standards and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and
compliance requirements.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following
key areas:
Lead and perform DOES IT security engineering and implementation
initiatives
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve firewall and network issues
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure security-related
issues
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve information security-related
issues
Provide technical guidance to agencies and other IT personnel on
network security infrastructure projects relating to security
implementation, standards compliance, vulnerability reduction, and
strategic security planning
Assist in the implementation of a centralized management system for
multiple security platforms
Coordinate with DOES to implement security procedures, monitoring
systems, and accreditation of new software/hardware systems or
networks
Additional security engineering activities includes:
The candidate shall be responsible for developing an overall project
plan, including milestones and critical success checkpoints.
The candidate shall develop a requirements document. The document
shall include all current requirements as well as probable
requirements for the future.
The candidate shall develop a detailed design document for the
solution. At a minimum the design document shall define the
following:
Overall security architecture
Detailed specification of every component of the solution
Detailed specification of approach to scaling the solution for future
growth
Detailed specification of the interface between the solution and
management applications, processes and procedures.
Detailed specification of all the hardware and software that will be
used to develop the solution
Detailed specification of the configuration of every hardware and
software component.
The candidate is required to provide own laptop and PDA/Smartphone.
The candidate will not be reimbursed for any type of expenses.
