*Position*: Oracle DBA *Location*: Washington, DC *Duration*: 6 Months *Inperson interview required* * * *Short Description: *Senior Oracle Database Consultant 10 Years of building and supporting databases, including RAC. *Complete Description:* Database management covering creation of data dictionaries, data models, and performance tuning. The position will support my client’s Migration project, including: - building new database infrastructure for migrating a data center from one location to another. - focusing on database configuration, installation and administration. - working in a team environment to provide DBA knowledge of Oracle RAC environment including backup and recovery. - Responsible for upgrades, performance monitoring, installations, managing replication, diagnosing system problems and disaster recovery testing. Support mission critical applications that include payroll (PeopleSoft), Ariba Procurement and credentialing. Prior knowledge of Government systems is desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills and prior experience with troubleshooting problems; documenting and reporting back after corrective measures have been taken. Behavior Characteristics: Good communication and presentation skills desirable. Independent and self starter in the realm of trouble shooting.
