Please find a new request for a *Desktop Support Integration Engineer *to
work as an onsite contractor at the IFC, a member of The World Bank Group in
Washington, DC.



Projected target start date is April 1st.  Initial assignment duration is
for 15 months with option to renew. Requirement details are below.

·          Excellent scripting skills in VB or VB .NET, WSH, WMI, ADSI, ASP,
SQL, C+, C++

·          In-depth knowledge of COM, .Net, login / logout process of the
Windows Environment

·          In-depth knowledge of Windows registry and local group policies

·          Knowledge of Anti-virus products such as McAfee, ePO etc.

·          In-depth knowledge in Microsoft Office 2007 configuration and
macro utilities

·          Experience in scripting login scripts

·          Knowledge of PC hardware device and software installations

·          Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·          Experience in computer hardware and software installation,
configuration and troubleshooting

·          Familiarity with network devices, protocols (TCP/IP) and
corresponding access related problems

·          Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently
as well as in collaboration with a team.

·          In-depth understanding and knowledge of Windows Vista UAC, driver
model, and memory sub-systems

·          In-depth knowledge of Windows registry and local group policies

The Desktop Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing the
utilities to be used in the support, management and testing of the standard
PC environment (currently ED5.x Vista / Windows 7) as well as
troubleshooting any installation or configuration issues that may arise. The
engineer will be expected to recommend solutions for application
installation issues, migration of user data, streamline the user login
process, work with the application owners and testers in installing packages
to be tested as well as document any configuration changes required on the
PC image.

The Desktop Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing the
utilities to be used during the testing and implementation of the ED5.x
environment as well as troubleshoot any installation or configuration issues
that arise during the deployment phase of the project. The engineer will be
expected to provide technical solutions for issues encountered with
application configuration and installation, migration of user data,
login/logout process, imaging and postinstall process, as well as code, test
and implement utilities that work around the Vista/Windows 7 UAC.  The
candidate is expected provide technical expertise to the IFC IT Support
staff as well as respond to and resolve issues reported by the user
community as they receive and use the ED5.x environment.

The following tasks are expected to be performed:

1.       Script, test, implement and document utilities that will customize
the standard ED5.x (Vista / Windows 7) image for IFC's environment

2.       Script, test and implement installation of IFC required enterprise
tools/agents

3.       Install, troubleshoot, configure and document changes required to
make IFC applications and client devices to work in the ED5.x (Vista /
Windows 7) environment

4.       Provide technical solutions to imaging and postinstall issues

5.       Respond, troubleshoot and provide sound technical solutions to
issues encountered in the Vista / Windows 7 / ED5 environment

6.       Document configuration changes, FAQs, and solutions to resolved
issues

7.       Install, troubleshoot, configure and document changes required to
make IFC applications to work in the PC environment

8.       Troubleshoot, provide workarounds, and permanent fixes to issues
identified in the PC environment

9.       Serve as an engineer / expert level point of contact for the Help
Desk, application owners and tier-3 support team on issues related to the PC
environment

10.    Participate in projects related to PC support such as evaluation of
hardware, software and documentation
