*Duration: 6 Months*



*Job Description/Responsibilities:*



The client Applications Division requires services of Application Architect
to perform the technical assessment and analysis of development tools and
technologies. The individual will be responsible for reviewing existing
technologies, assess future direction for existing technologies, evaluate
candidates for technology replacement and provide an implementation roadmap.
The position requires a very strong understanding of various products
available in the marketplace and their strengths and weaknesses related to
application development such as Application servers, Database servers,
Programming languages for presentation layer and business layer, Reporting
tools, Ad-hoc query tools, etc.



*Skills & Experience Required: *



The Application Architect will be responsible for reviewing existing
technologies, assess future direction for existing technologies, evaluate
candidates for technology replacement, develop proof of concept for key
products and provide implementation roadmap.  The details to complete this
responsibility are summarized below.



First, the Application Architect will be responsible for, but is not limited
to, performing the following activities:

1.    Interviewing stakeholders to inventory the Client’s existing Oracle
products and/or technologies

2.    Identify the Client’s Oracle products and/or technologies that have a
limited life span defined by Oracle or Client criteria

3.    Evaluate replacement candidates for the Oracle products and/or
technologies that have been identified as limited life span

4.    Determine the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats
(S.W.O.T.) for each replacement candidate through collaborative discussions
with stakeholders

5.    Develop a proof of concepts to support the documented S.W.O.T. for
replacement candidates as appropriate



Second, the Applications Architect must deliver the following *Oracle
Technology Roadmap* work products, but may be asked to include others:

1.    Document the Client’s existing Oracle products and/or technologies in
an *Oracle Products Inventory *work product

2.    Document the limited life span criteria; this should be included in
the *Oracle Products Inventory *work product

3.    Document the S.W.O.T. results in an *Oracle S.W.O.T.* work product;
include reference to any proof of concepts developed



Third, the Applications Architect will be responsible for:

1.    Presenting the results of the proof of concepts developed to the
appropriate stakeholders; this may include a show-and-tell of the proof of
concept

2.    Organizing the *Oracle Technology Roadmap* work products into a single
summary document for distribution to Client leadership

3.    Preparing a *Oracle Technology Roadmap* presentation to present
recommendation to Client leadership

4.    Facilitating discussions and issue resolution through the entire
process of developing the *Oracle Technology Roadmap*

5.    Working on day to day basis with various IT subject matter experts and
the Project manager



§  The candidate must have excellent analytical, leadership, communication
and facilitation skills.

§  Knowledge of Oracle Application Server, Forms, and Reports is desired
