*Job Description:*

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
The IT Project Manager will join a team of Project Managers who plan and
manage deliverables required to complete business application or
infrastructure projects sponsored by company Business Units and/or
Information Technology. The IT Project Manager is responsible for all
aspects of project management related to the delivery of projects and
follows the established solution development life cycle methodology. IT
Project Managers work closely with business and technical staff as well as
Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, Production Support and Senior
Management to ensure solutions are appropriately defined, designed,
developed, tested, and deployed. Candidates must have solid project
management experience and capabilities to ensure project scope is delivered
on time, within budget and to the agreed upon level of quality. Skills such
as planning, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, scope
management, influencing and risk mitigation are critical for this role.
Establishing and maintaining positive business relationships is also
paramount for success.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND FUNCTIONS
Project Request and Implementation Planning: Plans and schedules project
deliverables, activities and milestones necessary to achieve project
success. Provides rough order of magnitude and detailed project task
estimates as required – sometimes with limited requirements. Defines and
secures resources required for project scope implementation. Creates
strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. Develops Requests
for Proposals (RFP) and supports contract negotiation for external services
as needed. Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications
documents. Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to
involved parties.

Project Management: Manages complex projects/programs from
proposal/requirements to design, development, testing and production.
Manages allocated project capital and operating expense per budget. Directs
and oversees project team, efficiently identifies and solves project issues,
and manages conflicts within group. Designs and maintains technical and
project documentation. Identifies and manages project dependencies and
critical path. Tracks project milestones and deliverables - establishing
course corrections when necessary to ensure on-time delivery. Develops and
delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and
presentations. Proactively manages change in project scope, identify
potential crises, and devises contingency plans.

Leadership: Effectively communicates project expectations to team members
and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Liaises with project
stakeholders on an ongoing basis keeping them well informed and engages to
resolve project challenges beyond the team’s ability to resolve. Coach,
mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and
influences them to take positive action and accountability for their
assigned work. Demonstrates leadership by proactively identifying risks to
project delivery and resolves with mitigation strategies. Develops best
practices and tools for project execution and management. Sets and
continually manages project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
Conducts project post mortems and create recommendations for continuous
improvement. Identify and resolves issues and conflicts within the project
team.
Establishes and maintains strong business relationships vital to the success
of project implementation. Establish and maintain confidence in the eyes of
stakeholders that project scope under your responsibility will be delivered
on-time, on-budget with high quality – while adhering to Timberland values.

*QUALIFICATIONS:*
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Technology
or related field.
Minimum 7-10 years of project management or IT Management, preferably in a
global setting.
Minimum of 5 years leading all phases of a business solution delivery life
cycle: planning, analysis, design, build, test, and deployment, 5 years
application development, application support, or IT management experience a
plus. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent
preferred.

Domain Experience: Experience managing SAP FICO implementations or upgrades
required. Experience managing solution implementations or application
upgrades in the areas of Finance, Legal or HR required; for example: Concur
Expense Management, Kronos Time & Attendance, SAP HRIS, SAP FICO, SAP
Project Accounting, Hyperion.

Demonstrated Skills: Proficiency creating and maintaining project schedules
with Microsoft Project including critical path. Ability to establish and
manage project budgets of approximately $250K to $1M. Experience working
with diverse business groups and ability to partner with Directors and
VP-level managers across geographies/time zones. Passion and ability to
deliver project scope on-time, on-budget, to specified quality level while
exceeding stakeholder expectations. Ability to elicit cooperation from a
wide variety of sources including senior management and other departments.
Ability to coach, mentor and train staff to build high performance teams.
Excellent written and verbal skills – especially using Microsoft PowerPoint,
Excel, Word and Project. Ability to make timely project decisions and carry
them to conclusion. Strong inter-personal influencing skills. Proven
expertise following and maximizing the use of methodologies such as PM,
Agile or process engineering. Establishing strong working relationships with
solution vendors, while ensuring they meet contractual obligations.
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating – with a passionate commitment to
customer service.

Environment:
Experience working both independently and as a team – building a
team-oriented, collaborative environment. Can conform to shifting
priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving
capabilities. Reacts to necessary project adjustments and alterations
promptly and efficiently. Flexible during times of change. Willingness to
travel up to 3-4 times per year.
