Oracle DBA Location is Farmington MI 6 Months + Rate is 60.00 *Must interview in-person. * * * * * *Please read carefully the requirements listed below for a Senior Oracle DBA. * *Job Purpose:* The Senior Oracle Database Administrator will join the existing DBA Team and is capable of designing databases, planning database configuration and installation, maintaining databases, managining database security, building database backup and recovery routines, monitoring database activities, conducting performance monitoring and tuning, establishing proceudures and guidlines and providing consultation to application developers. Serves as a technical expert for complex databases including diagnosis and resolution of the most complex Oracle database issues and problems. *Essential Functions:* - Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support the system. - Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure and reliable services with minimum downtime. - Implement and release database changes as submitted by the development team. - Responsible for problem escalation to Application team and third parties/Oracle as appropriate. - Identify database issues and develop corrective measures; document database problems. - Plan, develop and implement effective database backup and recovery procedures following standards and guidelines. - Evaluate, recommend, implement database upgrades, fixes and patches as appropriate - Provide DBA support from developement and testing through the production implementation. - Monitor and maintain databases as per established security and auditing standards. - Perform database cloning or refreshes as appropriate and document the processes. - Coach and mentor other DBA's; participate in knowledge transfer. *Job Specifications:* *Knowledge & Skills required:* *Required Technical Skills:* - Experience installing and configuring Oracle 10g and 11g. - In-depth knowledge of Oracle processes and architecture (9i, 10g 11g) - Experience with OEM Grid Control 10g/11g. - 2 or more years of experience with Linux and AIX OS environments. - 2 or more years of experience with Unix Shell scripting. - Experience with RMAN and database cloning. - Extensive experience with Oracle Performance tuning and implementation of enterprise backup and recovery strategies for databases. - Sound knowledge of both SQL and PL/SQL. - Administer databases through full application life cycle, development, testing and production. - Ability to handle basic systems administration tasks. - Strong project management skill with exposure to project management tools. *Additional skills that would be considered a plus:* - SQL Server and/or MySQL Database Adminstration skills. - Middleware experience OID/OAM, SOA, Webcenter, OBIEE. - Any experience around E*Business (Oracle Applications 10.2.05, 12.1.3) - OEM Server and Application tier level monitoring Skills. - Experience with Embarcadero DBA Tools - Change Manager, Schema Manager, ER Studio and Windows Operation Systems. - Any Oracle DBA Certifications.
