Please be sure to review the job description for this position. While we
would like to have someone with experience in SAP and IDOCs, but it’s enough
to just have some knowledge of them (preferred but not necessary)
We are mostly interested with EDI programmers who have hands on mapping
development, have worked in translator platforms (preferably Seeburger BIS,
but not necessary), thoroughly know and understand X12, XML, and other
document types, and so forth.
BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB
The EDI Specialist’s role is to develop, coordinate, implement, and
communicate the organization’s Internet-based strategies and initiatives for
legacy Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. This individual is
responsible for ensuring that EDI-related production and procedures are
maintained and properly executed, including development, change requests,
and enterprise integration projects. The EDI Specialist will work closely
with business and IT teams within the organization as well as direct
interaction with and support for Insight’s partners.
WORK PERFORMED
· Create Design Specifications, via Gap Analysis and
coordination with trading partner and internal business resources.
· Create Requirements Documentation as a result Design Spec
process
· Create Test plans
· Develops maps data between EDI translation platform and
existing ERP systems and other applications
· Act as the technical Supplier/Customer interface for EDI
projects
· Support EDI interfaces with ERP and external trading
partners
· Maintains current and implements new EDI transaction
sets.
· Maintains EDI guidelines for all standard documents.
· Proactively identify process improvement within the EDI
process flows
· Manage all EDI testing, issue resolution and process
flows
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge & Experience
· Highly proficient in EDI standards
· 5 or more years in ANSI X12, EDIFACT, AND XML standards
for the documents Sales orders, Purchase Orders, ASN, Invoice, Remittance.
· Preferred working experience in SAP IDOCs & good
understanding of SAP transactions corresponding to Sales orders, purchase
orders, ASN, Invoice, Remittance
· Good understanding of e-commerce, B2B & EDI technologies
· Experience with B2B Java based integration tools such as
Seeburger BIC MD/BIS 5 or BIS 6
· Good understanding of Communications technologies such as
FTP, AS2, VAN, HTTP, SFTP
· Translator experience with Seeburger BIS 5 or BIS 6
preferred but not required.
