* * *Position*: Q/A Test Engineer *Location:* Woodbury, NY *Duration:* long term This individual will be responsible for developing and integrating *tests over Set-top Box (STB)* embedded software within a complex and integrated environment. Responsibilities: . Design/develop automation test framework . Design, implement, execute, report, and automate test cases . Plan, configure & maintain the system test environment for system test needs . Understand overall product/system requirements and synthesize multi-level test requirements including functional, performance, stability, load & high availability, product usability, regulatory, spec compliance, etc. . Develop detailed test project plans, test plans, test procedures, and test report templates . Engage in system/software troubleshooting, problem reporting, and defect tracking . Characterize feature, product, and system performance . Recommend optimizations/fixing where needed . Work with cross functional teams such as software deployment, systems integration, product, video engineering, infra-structure, network, production, test labs, etc. Requirements: *. 3+ years experience testing/developing embedded software on Set-top Box (STP) / Digital Television (DTV) platforms. *. Must have solid Unit Testing experience. . Experience in developing, integrating, and testing network systems/applications . Experience in developing systems, integrating and testing multimedia applications . Experience in developing codes, scripts and test automation with strong programming skills (Java / Bash / Python) . Good understanding of systems engineering, test methodology and test processes, including requirements collection, test plan development and execution . Q/A Lab and hands-on debugging skills, i.e., ability to do initial debug, troubleshoot defects, and isolate failures . Experience with exploratory tests (tests without formal test cases),system tests, servers, and network infrastructures . Strong communication skills .
