Our client is looking for DB2 DBA Please reach my recruiter Samson at 661-310-1202 / [email protected] *Location:* Columbus, IN *Duration:* 3 - 4 Months only. *Job description:* · Monitor, maintain and support databases on clustered Windows platform (Unix would be an added advantage) · Develop and implement backup, recovery, checkpoint/restart methodology and procedures to reduce system down time · Monitor and tune databases to resolve any system problems · Provide 24x7 DBA on-call support to various systems · Performs logical and physical database designs, implements and supports new and existing tables. · Monitors DB2 space usage and database performance. · Performs database reorganization as necessary. · Assists in the meeting of service level agreements. · Insures system performance, redundancy, and fault tolerance. · Develops / Maintains disaster recovery plan. · Experience and proficiency in database monitoring and troubleshooting are a must. · The ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written.
