*Role: Websphere Commerce developer * *Duration: 6-12 months* *Location; NYC NY* *Rate: Open * *Interview type: Phone and in-person * Work as Sr. Developer, and write and implement technical specifications related to the company's web initiatives. Work with other members of the Applications Development team to implement technical specifications. Work with functional groups both internal to e-Scholastic (e.g., project management, network operations.) and external (e.g., corporate IT) in order to provide tightly integrated solutions between the web applications and the legacy backend systems. Write and review application code for web applications. Design and build applications for scalability and redundancy. Adhere to industry standards and Scholastic-defined guidelines and principles for software engineering. Provide technical guidance to more junior members of the development team. Write documentation as needed. Continue to develop technical skills and learn new technologies as needed. Requirements: Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus 2+ years work experience in the job offered or alternate occupation of Software Engineer or Software Programmer. Experience in the following technologies: J2EE, Websphere Application Server, EJB, Struts, MQ, DB2, XML, SQL and Web Services.
