Title: DW Specialist / ETL Analyst and Developer

Requisition Comments: The CONTRACTOR will provide an ETL Developer to assist
Client in implementing the Data Integration components of the Data Mall
utilizing Informatica's suite of products. Working under the supervision of
the ETL Architect, Project Manager and the Director of Health Information
Management Center, the ETL Developer will assist in designing and developing
Data ETL code for loading the Data Mall. The scope of the ETL Developer
tasks is described as follows:
Design and Develop ETL Components:
During the Design and Development phases of the Software Development
Lifecycle ("SDLC") the primary responsibilities of the ETL Developer include
the design, development, testing, debugging and documentation of Informatica
processes that support the data integration/ETL component of UHC's Data Mall
implementation. Design and development tasks include but are not limited to
the following:
* Historical Load
* Incremental Update
* Scheduling
* Staging
* Bulk Load
* Batch/Near-Real Time
* Aggregation/Summarization
* Process Control
* Load Control
* Error Handling
* Auditing
* Slowly Changing Dimensions (SDCs)
* ETL mappings and workflows
* Push down Object (PDO) and corresponding SQL code (Aggregations,
Transformations, Rollups, Inserts, Updates, Deletes)
* Unit and regression test plans, test data and test scripts
* Release management plans and scripts
* Performance tuning and troubleshooting
Additional Roles - Analysis: The ETL Developer may be required to develop
and/or review the following:
* Perform source-to-target maps and business logic
* Convert the business transformation logic to pseudo code
* Conduct source system and source table analysis to develop the
necessary data profiling templates
* Create the bus matrix and information matrix
* Assist the Data Architect in creating the logical data models
Deployment: As part of the release management plan, the ETL Developer will
develop the plans, scripts and code for version control and release of the
ETL components to the appropriate environments:
* Development to Quality Assurance and Testing
* Quality Assurance and Testing to Production
For each environment, the ETL Developer will work with the operations and
UHC technical teams to establish process schedules and monitoring routines.
* Team participation and communication
* The consultant will participate in team communication and planning
sessions.
Responsibilities include:
* Accurate reporting of daily activities
* Status Reporting
* Participation in team meetings
* Specification review
* ETL mapping review
* Unit Test Plan review
* Problem triage and resolution
* Mentoring and knowledge transfer to less experienced staff
* Test Planning
* Unit Testing
* Integration Testing
* Acceptance Testing
Deliverables:
* ETL documentation for assigned tasks
* ETL Code/Mappings/Workflows
* Unit and Regression Test Plans
* Release management notes and scripts
* Documentation for each ETL workflow including but not limited to:
functional specs, technical specs, mapping / workflow diagram, testing plans
