*The GID Marketing and Analytics team is a team that is chartered with
driving revenue and profit growth in client’s online business through the
development and implementation of analytics, decision support systems, and
predictive models for profit maximizing analytical processes.
*
Examples of some of the key projects are: decisions support systems to
manage assortment planning, buy planning and pricing, optimal price
computation, customer lifetime value analysis, website performance analysis,
inventory collocation strategies, etc.

This role will be the lead data architect and will be responsible for
designing and architecting components and features based on requirements,
managing the offshore development staff, and participating in the
development of key features/components. This position of data Architect
interacts closely Inventory Strategy team as the primary application
requirements creators.

This position requires proven success implementing scalable,
high-performance OLTP & OLAP applications and services from conception to
delivery. In addition effective communication to both management and the
team of software engineers is a requirement. Overall, this role is a key
part of the analytical ecosystem to drive analytical excellence and
consistency in GID.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
•Understands and can help drive all phases of the Software Development
Lifecycle.

*oExperience with Agile Development Lifecycle.*
• Define and architecture technology for both OLTP and OLAP portions of
applications
•Hands on development while managing a team engineers
Provide expertise and leadership on technical design and architecture.
•Conduct design reviews and code reviews, help enforce best practices,
coding guidelines, and code quality.
•Work with product owners to analyze functional requirements and technical
feasibility.
•Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
•Work with developers to identify project tasks and provide estimates.
•Provide guidance on optimizing and performance tuning current production
code.
•Software design, architecture and development in client, server, DB
products.
•Document cube design in an easy to understand manner for other users.
•Prioritize correctly, keeping business value at the forefront of the
decision making process.
•Build monitoring, QA, and maintenance processes that ensure the ongoing
reliability of built end products

*REQUIREMENTS:*

•Strong Data Warehouse expertise Design, Schema, ETL vs. ELT, Data Mart

•Strong knowledge of BI, OLAP, ROLAP, HOLAP and appropriate trade offs

•Strong application engineering experience in designing
Information/Analytics, highly scalable and available systems

•Experience in designing and developing Database components

•Experience in using data integration tools such as DataStage, SSIS

•Development experience in designing and developing large scale database
application •Designing and refactoring DB systems for performance
maximization

•Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

•Proven success building and deploying enterprise level applications

•Strong leadership skills and proven ability to lead the efforts both
functionally and technically to achieve the vision

•7 + years building large scale enterprise and distributed applications

•Proven track record in lead and architect position for 5+ years Desired

•Experience defining applications in UML

•Strong familiarity with SQL Server 2008r2 database and SSAS technologies

•Ability to configure and deploy and manage SQL Server 2008R2 cluster
database



*Education: *

•BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent
experience
