*Please forward resumes to [email protected] * * * *Title: 2 Java developers* *Location: Rochester NY* *Duration: 6+ Months * *Job Description: * Client is looking for a programmer/analyst for their team, developer will be joining a team of 2 other developers that have moved into the role they are calling Fast-Lane developers. The purpose for this role is to work on the systems that are "downstream" from their ERD legacy systems to shorten the lag time for public data and records to supplied to customer facing publishing systems. The overall publishing system for Thomson is call the Public Records Publishing Pathway, within this system is their "People Warehouse", and EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) data mart. This person is going to look at the components involved in these systems and improve the overall "currency" of the system. Currency is a term that Thomson uses to represent accuracy to the public records and the speed for it to be processed. The candidate must have a strong overall programming background, ideally in Java, they must be able to build applications with Java, have the ability to read other developers code, make changes, and write their own code. This position will require a fast-learner because there is a steep learning curve and the developer will need to familiarized themselves with 3-4 different systems while working with the 2 other developers. * * Top 3 Skills:** 1) Java (3+ years, build Applications in Java, read AND modify others' code) 2) Unix (systems run on Linux AND person must have 3+ Years navigating within a Unix environment) 3) Analysis (has worked on multiple systems at the same time, can read/modify other people's code) Nice To Have: understanding of databases, how they function AND how To manipulate data within.
