Senior Windows Systems Administrator Location: Jersey City, NJ Rate: open Duration: 6 months+ Face to face :Yes,after telephonic The principle objective of this position is to provide expert level support for the whole W2K3/W2K8 based production environment. Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support ensuring full availability of the Americas Windows environment to the IT Infrastructure and production environment. Continuous proactive system performance monitoring of the environment utilizing specific monitoring tools. The engineer will play an active roll in the day-to-day support activities, administration and all projects associated with windows infrastructures and all W2K3/W2K8 based applications. The ITI&P Windows group is defined as the group that is chartered to maintain all the W2K3/W2K8 based servers. Position requirements Strong Knowledge of windows OS (W2k3/W2K8/XP/Win7) Strong knowledge of W2k3/W2K8/XP/Win7 Enterprise components and technologies such as Domains, DNS, Registries, DHCP/WINS. Strong knowledge of Active Directory Strong knowledge of MS SCCM and Altiris Suite Good working knowledge of installing W2k3/W2K8/XP/Win7 on industry standard vendor hardware (e.g. Client, IBM, Client/Compaq hardware including blade servers ) Knowledge and experience of Linux Knowledge of MS SQL 2005/2008 Knowledge of IIS, SharePoint, Apache Tomcat and Websphere Strong knowledge of the SAN / EMC storage including the different SRDF types, NetApp NAS and Tivoli TSM backup Working knowledge of VMware ESX server Knowledge of middleware (RV, CFT/FTP, MQ Series ) Working knowledge of CA-Unicenter-TNG, A Good working knowledge of Citrix PS 4.x and XenApp 5/6 Knowledge of basic server based applications Good working knowledge of networking functions (i.e. function of TCP/IP, SNMP,), subnetting and routing. Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong Project Management and Documentation skill Service oriented, positive, committed and enthusiastic team player with a flexible "can do" approach to work. Strong desire to become heavily involved in computing in a Financial Institution. Relishes taking responsibility in a hands-on environment directly interfacing with users and developers at all levels. Will be required to work on an on-call rotation. Position Responsibilities Manage the windows environment in the North Americas Region - Interface with Vendors and Internal Global Teams to ensure the environment is up to the current standards. Manage Business Continuance in relation to Disaster Recovery. Maintain System high reliability, availability and fault tolerance. 1st,, 2nd and 3rd Level Support for the Windows production Environments Proactive System Performance Monitoring Develop and maintain capacity plans Liaison with IT and Business departments Managing and supporting the CITRIX application hosting systems dedicated to the Fixed Income Silo System Upgrades New Project Implementations involving Windows infrastructures Perform proactive management of the servers using server monitoring products Provide 24*7 On call support based on rotation within the ITI&P Windows SA team Perform a thorough morning check on all critical and Tier1 applications using existing tools or scripts (Backup, Network connectivity, Disk space, CPU load, Memory load, SRDF replication, etc...) Maintain and support the bank Systems monitoring applications (CA-Unicenter, MS SCOM) and Client/Client/IBM proprietary HW monitoring tools. Must be independent, organized, self-motivated, responsible individual able to complete tasks with little or no outside support Maintain and support the back up of the ITI&P Windows Systems Provide capacity planning using the bank standard tools (Sysload, ManageIQ EVM, etc) Should be familiar with system administration regarding relational databases such as Sybase, Oracle, SQL along with CFT/FTP and MQ Series.
