Jr. Sharepoint admin
6+ months contract
Pittsburgh,PA
Rate: $45/hr on c2c max
2007 version of Sharepoint server and some limited Sharepoint standard
server 2010. This position would allow someone to get in on the ground
floor of a newly created Sharepoint team. Up till now the team has been
comprised of 2 people-an admin that is allocated to 50% of his time and a
support person and a manager. Sharepoint is part of 5 year IT strategy and
has committed itself to creating a full fledged team and rolling it out to
the whole company.
*DUTIES:*
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of SharePoint 2010 servers
- Backups and restores, perform disaster recovery as required
- Planning, design, configuration, testing and implementation of
SharePoint 2010 solutions based on business requirements
- Provide application and developer support, troubleshooting custom
deployments, application and server performance issues
- Support SharePoint 2010 infrastructure with deployment, maintenance,
health and performance monitoring
- Provide issue resolution and production system support
- Patch servers and databases as needed
- Work with DBA's and BA's to resolve reported issues
- Monitor server performance, enforce server level security rules
- Day to day support of the SharePoint environment working on a two person
team
- Responsible for the administration/coordination of all aspects of
SharePoint server
- Oversee the SharePoint Portal infrastructure, and application deployment
- Manage farm level administrator access
- Maintain security, operation, and maintenance of all server and
SharePoint related software related software (such as 3rd party tools)
- Deploying, configuring, and managing new farms and web applications
- Research and advise on new or possible improvements to the environment.
*Skills:*
· BS/BA in Information Systems, Computer Science, or
equivalent industry experience
· 3+ years' experience with SharePoint 2007/2010
· Expert knowledge administering medium size SharePoint
farms
· Strong understanding of Windows Server 2003/2008, IIS
and SQL
· Proven experience with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010
and service applications
· Strong knowledge of Sharepoint security model
· Strong knowledge of SharePoint Governance model
· Strong understanding of current SharePoint trends.
