We are in search of a Senior Software Engineer to participate in the design
and development of high performance, distributed, state of the art
software. Key skills are Java, HTML, CSS and SQL. The job is located
in *Monterey,
California*.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *
• Conceives, designs, develops, and enhances software components to extend
the technology platform of our client.
• Meet project milestones according to the project schedule.
• Debugs, analyzes and fixes application problems/issues.
•Designs related database schema and works with Database Administrators to
deploy and tune performance.
•Collaborates with project managers, business analysts, designers, and
other members of the project team to conceive features and functionality,
identify requirements specification, conduct feasibility analysis, and
determine testing requirements, and project scheduling.
•Optimizes application performance by diagnosing issues and improving code.
•Provides troubleshooting support for production systems.
•Document changes according to the company's standards.
•Complies with company policies and procedures and performs other duties as
needed.
•May train or mentor other developers.
*Education and Experience*
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Software Development
• Or, a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
• 5+ years general work experience in technology.
• 5+ years progressive experience programming in Java (J2EE).
• 3-5 years experience developing web applications.
• 3-5 years experience designing and developing RDBMS persistence in SQL,
preferably in a SQL Server environment.
• 2-3 years experience with Model-View-Controller application development
preferred
*Required Technical Skills:*
• Advanced skills in Java / HTML / CSS / SQL
• Proficient skills in:
o Relational database management systems
o Web service architecture / development
o Multi-threaded, concurrent programming
o OOP analysis and design
o MS Office products
• Basic knowledge of XML processing (JAXP, JDOM), HTTP and TCP/IP
