*Location: Denver, CO* *Length: 3 months* *Start: ASAP* *Interview :phone* The Technology Operations DBA Specialist is responsible for implementing timely, complex database technology solutions to multiple BPO customers during all phases of the capability release design, build, test and run of software. The Technology Operations DBA Specialist maintains the integrity of the test and production environments and ensures that those changes are managed through the lifecycle. The Technology Operations DBA Specialist executes database technology requests and serves as the ongoing escalation point for requests as necessary. The Technology Operations DBA Specialist works with Technology Operations Analysts and Specialists to resolve problems. Key Responsibilities: -Responsible for database administration, including table maintenance, backup and restore, database design and data integrity. -Implement standards and processes that facilitate stability of production environments. Includes daily administration of database security and data integrity, table maintenance, database Design. -Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the databases and development tools used by BPO. Provide consultation and participation with difficult troubleshooting efforts for Architecture, Product Support and Technology Development. -Maintain databases for software testing and production environments. Resolve complex problems related to software and database configuration. Assists with project work and development work as well as daily maintenance tasks and provides on-call coverage. -Research and resolve Requests for Assistance (RFAs), meeting or exceeding established criteria for customer service and satisfaction. -Create and maintain communication channels with other teams, groups, and organizations. Liaise with the IO and CIO Technology Services organization. -Manage own work in executing complex technical tasks, such as database upgrades and hardware replacement, on schedule, on budget and with expected quality. -Maintain a strong understanding of the BPO products and how they are used in various technical environments. Perform research and testing to investigate technical issues. -Update and maintain technical documentation. -Evaluate new technologies and recommend usage to achieve improved operational efficiency or improved service. -Monitor and act on production issues. -Implement improvements to production system monitoring & support procedures. -Provide deep knowledge of the data model for use by people writing reports. Ensure that report designs return the correct data and are written to execute without introducing performance issues. -May manage of third-party hardware and software vendor relationships with specific vendors. Evaluate new and existing products from these vendors for use in BPO. * Knowledge/Skills Requirements: * · *Strong technical skills with and understanding of Microsoft SQLServer. * · *Experience with clustering and replication * · *Hands-on experience with database security and SQL coding & scripting. * · *Technical experience with reporting tools and architectures such as Crystal Reports, OLAP Databases. * · *Technical experience with database utilities including performance/maintenance and backup utilities. * · *Demonstrated PC and UNIX skills with a strong understanding of software installation and configuration. * · *Specific database administration experience with Windows 2000/XP and some Unix (preferably Sun Solaris). * · *Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to recognize technical deficiencies and/or opportunities, and experience developing appropriate solutions. * · *Good communications skills, oral and written.* -- Thanks & Regards Mahesh G! bmahesh.ar Y! maheshb_ar * * -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP BASIS" group.
