*Many candidates have been interviewed or reviewed thus far, but we are
looking for more experience and robust skills, particularly in the areas of
understanding of tuning Weblogic garbage collection processes and GC tuning
parameters, understanding of bottleneck analysis in a web app environment,
working knowledge of WLST and Jython scripting language. Experience with
developing automation scripts for Weblogic configurations and deployments.
Most candidates thus far have had basic WebLogic administration skills, but
have not known answers to more complex technical questions. We have updated

• Minimum of 8 years total IT experience
• 6+ years’ experience with UNIX and Windows servers
• 5+ years’ experience supporting clustered WebLogic Application Server
environments
• Ability to identify and resolve performance issues
• Advanced understanding of tuning Weblogic garbage collection processes
and GC tuning parameters
• Advanced understanding of bottleneck analysis in a web app environment
• Working knowledge of WLST and Jython scripting language
• Experience with developing automation scripts for Weblogic configurations
and deployments
• Configure WebLogic Servers in a Cluster solution for High Availability,
Load balancing and fail over support.
• Provide J2EE performance monitoring using provided monitoring tools.
• Document and implement WebLogic best practices.
• Document operational steps and practices necessary to perform the
assigned administrative duties.
• Evaluate products and upgrades for appropriateness. Oversee and implement
system upgrade strategies.
• Deploy new business applications and application updates into WebLogic
Application Servers
• Develop and analyze highly complex system standards, thresholds, and
recommendations to maximize system performance
• Conduct capacity planning reviews with server administrators, business
analysts, and management
• Provide technical leadership to appropriate personnel on highly complex
system administration activities. Provides technical solutions and
escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Open to working on-call supporting 24x7 environment
Desired Skills
• Apache/Tomcat
• Oracle SUN/JAVA Application server
• IIS
• Prior UNIX or Windows system administration experience
• Experience in a large scale customer-facing corporate IT environment
• Understanding and experience in disaster recovery
• Understanding of incident, change, and problem management processes (ITIL
certification is a plus)*
