*Position: Java Developer* *Location: Chicago IL* *Duration: 6 Months* //Java Developer//Chicago IL//6 Months *MonthsRate: $50/hr* Java Developer for AWD10 Upgrade Project Looking for a Java Application Developer to upgrade our imaging and workflow systems. We are upgrading the server component of our workflow system (AWD) from version 2.3 to 10. The candidate will integrate AWD 10 server to other internal and external systems by creating/modifying solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces which may include design, coding, unit testing, and documentation. The person in this role should be able to quickly pickup and take on ownership of projects and deliverables. They should be able to communicate with project management status of assigned tasks, estimates of proposed tasks, and actual time spent on completion of project tasks. Roles and Responsibilities: Involvement in architecture and design Design and development of interfaces between our workflow and other systems. To drive the testing of the custom code and interfaces Requirements: Must have excellent documentation, collaboration and communication skills Collaborate with local & remote team members effectively Ability to multi-task across numerous activities Proven experience with designing and developing complex technical solutions in Java. Technical design skills (Understands 'Design Patterns') Expert using Eclipse and/or Rational Application Developer Experienced in working with Java and J2EE technologies such as Web services (SOAP, REST) Web Programming (JSP, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML) Experienced in SQL and SQL Scripting Experienced in developing both web based online and batch applications. Websphere 6.1 or higher, Cluster-aware applications would be a bonus Demonstrated experience and adherence to common SDLC practices Experience with source configuration management (SCM) systems (Subversion, CVS) Effectively manage time between projects in different phases of development status Strong sense of ownership and responsibility with assignments B.S Degree in Computer Science or related field. Pluses: Experience working with Document management and workflow systems, ideally Filenet and AWD Experience with Java based frameworks/tools, such as Hibernate, Spring, Jibx, JAXB, Struts, Junit DB(Oracle, DB2) Performance tuning and monitoring of applications.
