*Description:*

 The Senior Oracle Database Developer position is responsible for design,
integration, and implementation of technical database solutions that
supports the company business strategies and objectives. This is considered
an experienced Oracle database developer position and requires technical
skills and expertise in Oracle database and RDBMS concepts. This role
provides technical consulting to management, business users, and technical
associates and works closely with other developers as a mentor. The
developer will also research, design, document, and modify software
specifications throughout the production life cycle in accordance with the
business goals and organizational architectural standards.

Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning
• Collaborate with business analysts, business users and other developers
in conceptualization and development of new technical objects within the
Oracle database environment.
• Analyze and assess existing procedures to allow the application to
respond to business changes.
• Evaluate requirements from functional specifications and create efficient
technical designs.

Acquisition & Deployment
• Develop complex technical objects in accordance with the technical
development standards and best practices.
• Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high
technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business.
• Design data models and database components for large-sized development
projects and recommend industry best practices and work with functional
knowledge holders.

Operational Management
• Design, develop, deploy, test and maintain technical objects in Oracle
databases.
• Create detailed database technical design specifications from business
requirements.
• Provide support for business critical application problems and issues.
• Assist with testing and deployment of database upgrades.
• Coordinate work efforts with the DBA and middleware teams for application
change controls and system performance issues.

Incidental Functions
• Assist with large scale projects may be required to contribute to
efficiency, effectiveness and success of the work.
• Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and
frameworks.
• Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested.
• Mentor and coach developers and/or Professional Apprentices.
• Train and share knowledge with development teams.
• Willingness and ability to train and teach others.
• Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action
obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity
policy.
• Minimal travel as required.
• Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour work day as required.

*Experience Required:*

Knowledge & Experience
• 5+ years IT experience.
• 5+ years’ experience working closely with Database Administrators in the
design, implementation, tuning and maintenance of highly available and high
volume database solutions.
• 5+ years of experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills including the
ability to design, develop, unit test, and performance tune packages,
procedures, functions, triggers and complex queries.
• Experience developing solutions using TOAD, SQL Developer and SQL Loader.
• Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 or higher is desired.
