*Location: Bellevue, WA Duration: 6 months* *This candidate should also have hands-on experience in Java and ORM preferably Hibernate*. Client does NOT want a DB administrator / DBA – they want a DB developer** MUST HAVE strong database development, JAVA, & Hibernate experience** *POSITION SUMMARY (Database developer)* The successful candidate will provide database development expertise for a critical group within the organization. The individual will be responsible for database-related aspects of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, coding and debugging, unit-testing, and maintenance. The individual will demonstrate proficiency in developing custom database queries of varying complexity, which scale effectively in a high-throughput, OLTP environment. *This candidate should also have hands-on experience in Java and ORM preferably Hibernate*. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS BS or MS in Computer Science or related experience 5-7 years of experience of *database design and development with a relational database* management system such as Oracle, MS SQL Server 2-3 years’ experience with *Java *and 2 -3 years’ experience with *Perl (or a comparable scripting language)* Solid understanding of fundamental relational database concepts Working knowledge of ORM technologies preferably *Hibernate * Competence in employing sound software engineering practices Experience writing tools to manage database migration to support multiple versions is a plus.
