*Job Title: Oracle DBA
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: Full Time*

*Visa: GC or US Citizen only*

Relevant Experience (Yrs) 5+ Years of IT

Technical/Functional Skills
Capable of performing requirements gathering, analysis, database
configuration and testing. Excellent verbal and written communications
skills are a must.

Experience Required
3+ Years of DBA Experience on Oracle 9i, 10g & 11g on UNIX (Linux, AIX,
SUN, and HP) Environment
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming
Extensive familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Control, 10g),
SQL analyzer, TOAD

Have the ability to:
Install oracle server and client software, creating, upgrading and patching
databases
Tune the databases
Write Unix scripts
Planning, Job scheduling, and Monitoring
Perform Database Backups and Recovery
Perform Database Cloning
Troubleshoot database issues
Perform first call resolution or escalation to 3rd tier services
Preferably Oracle Certified Database Administrator
Experience in leading a team of DBA’s.
Experience in SLA management and reporting.
Should have good oral and written communication skills in English

Roles & Responsibilities
The escalated incidents will be handled through Level 2 support team that
does troubleshooting to resolve the problem. If still the incident is
unresolved then it is passed on to Tier 3. Once the incident is resolved,
it is updated in the ticket & knowledge base.
Respond to & Resolve to all Level 2  DBSRs /  BARS Tickets  & Escalation to
Level-3 services for un-resolved issues
Manage Standard DBSRs like Data Load/Unload, Drop Databases, Startup /
Shutdown, Refresh of non-production databases with production dump, Migrate
database changes at object level, Replication (Setup & Maintain), etc.
Perform database tuning by changing certain database parameters -SQL
Tuning, Re-org of table spaces, Rebuild of indexes
Perform database Backup, Restores and recovery
To lead a team of DBA’s. (level 3 / 4 only)
Mentoring the team & responsible for team’s throughput.
Ensure team’s productivity by monitoring their ticket queues.
Ensure Operational excellence by monitoring & adhering to SLA’s.
Report team’s performance and participate in review meetings.
Access the current scenario & recommend improvement areas involving people,
process & technology that provide tangible benefits to the project.
