· The ideal candidate must have at least 8-10 years of experience in
computer science or information technology with an emphasis on Cognos

The Data Management Services (DMS) group within IT needs to fill a 6 month
BI Programmer - Sr position. The candidate with the necessary knowledge,
skills and abilities will need to start as soon as possible.
*Work Summary*
The candidate filling this *BI Programmer - Senior* position will be
responsible for the technical architecture & management of the Microsoft BI
Platform. The candidate will design and deploy BI scorecards, dashboards,
multi-dimensional Cubes and adhoc reporting. The candidate will recommend
solutions, develop solutions, test solutions, gain acceptance for
solutions, and negotiate/coordinate across multiple organizations for
timely and cost effective deployment of Business Intelligence
applications. The candidate must possess technical Microsoft BI skills,
Microsoft BI architecture/infrastructure skills, and project
management/coordination skills.

*Responsibilities*
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Consult with business community to gather requirements for specific BI
scorecard, dashboard and reporting needs.
- Write detailed specification to be used in developing reports and
processes
- Participate in the design and development of enterprise-wide data
repositories.
- Make recommendation to improve the efficiency and functionality of the
database and Microsoft BI environment
- Design and develop scorecards, dashboards and multi-dimension data
cubes using Cognos
- Develop and execute a verification and security strategy to ensure the
accuracy of the data distributed in the reports
- Consult with end users to refine/enhance existing BI application
- Microsoft BI Architecture Infrastructure in-depth knowledge
- Monitoring and modifying existing Microsoft infrastructure to
effectively maintain security and performance
- Management of assigned projects
- Issue resolution and escalation
- Development of project cost estimates
- Develop cost effective solutions
- Conforms to DMS and IT standards and requirements
- Adherence to IT audit policies

*Experience:*
