*Title: Sr Test Engineer* *Location : Rochester, NY* * * *Duration : 6+ Months* *Job Description:* Project is for publishing system, utililized by public record personal and government researchers. On a day to day they will be doing validation of content within the system versus the data warehouse depending on request and requirement outlines. Testing different query options clients are requesting for their publishing system. Testing requirements from different clients to ensure accurate data is being pulled for client. QA team is made up of 15 total people, QA manager, 2 QA team leads (1 managing the DW side and 1 managing the API side), and 12 QA analysts. Currently the team has a large amount of junior QA analysts and they are looking for this person to take more of a senior role on the team. Individual will need to be very adaptive to an ever changing environment, Thomson has project teams that meet regularly that request test builds from QA and analyst must be able to take those requests and run with it. The analyst will be testing that the correct data is being extracted from the database to satisfy the client needs. I incorrect data is being extracted this can cause delays and directly impact the relationship wih the clients. Person should have a basic understanding of Java, have the ability to read and interpret other people's code. Individual must be database savvy, an understanding of the Data Model, Databases, and Datawarehousing. Understanding of how Databases change as they grow and how it is put together. Must have Skills: 1)Java/Junit: 3-5 years: writing test cases using JUnit or Java, automating using JUnit 2)MySQL: 3-5 years: utilizing MySQL to write statements to extract data from the databases 3)Automated Testing: 2+ years: creating test cases and test plans to automate testing efforts. Plus: Design analysis (proven analytical and development background.)
