The Siebel Service Application team manages the application build and delivery for our Global Technical Services Group. This ideal candidate for this position will possess both deep technical knowledge of Siebel up thru at least version 8.1 (preferably on systems utilizing Oracle RAC), Veritas and Unix clustering, Sun/Unix and systems management, as well as leadership abilities to drive project design and build activities, and interact with Global IT teams, vendors, and business customers. *The individual in this role will lead the following objectives: * · Serve as the architect of the Siebel Service environment and provide consultative input to other Siebel instance managers. · Establish, plan, and lead regarding best-practice implementation, consistency of architecture, optimization and support processes for the implementation and management of Siebel in a global environment. · Provide systems optimization and troubleshooting support related to Siebel and its configuration, interaction with the infrastructure to ensure consistent delivery of services. · Provide consultative and direct support for new development and implementation and system development impacts to the defined architecture. · Provide direction and support for systems upgrades. · Provide direction and support for global rollout of platform. · Provide best-practices guidelines for high availability using various clustering technologies (including Veritas and Unix Clustering), virtualization technologies, resource management, patch application, performance tuning, logging, backups and other critical systems architecture/management activities. · Provide 3rd level support for existing systems/applications. · The Siebel Technical Application Architect leads all aspects of the delivery of Siebel solution & related components: interfaces, conversions, HW/SW oversight (selection, sizing, configuration recommendation & execution). · Siebel Architect provides Solution Performance (analysis/tuning) at all levels of the application including database/application/web/network and works across technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition & systems architecture for the organization. · Works with development team to ensure business needs are translated into systems that support the needs. · Works with both the development team and support teams to identify maintenance and support processes for management of the Siebel environment. *Qualifications: * · Ability to work effectively in teams and in a matrix organization. · Maturity to accept direction, confidence to give direction. · Creativity in addressing technical challenges from an applications perspective. · Understanding of industry direction and impact of that direction on business environment. · Ability to understand and assist in evolution and/or integration of client applications. · Strong business knowledge. · Solid presentation skills, verbal and written communication. · Ability to effectively present and communicate ideas to project stakeholders. · Work on reviews such as application design, configuration review, sizing, performance etc. · Strong implementation experience using Siebel 7.x and 8.x. with expertise in Siebel CRM. · Provide expertise in Siebel configuration, Siebel EAI / EIM, Siebel architecture including Gateway Server, Enterprise Server, Siebel Server, Web Server and Database Server. · Experience in Cluster configuration and management in Unix/Oracle and the use of Siebel in a clustered environment. · Experience with Siebel running on Oracle databases especially with Oracle RAC databases. · Expertise in Siebel Data Models and RDB Data Modeling. · Experience with Siebel EAI - Integration workflows, Web Services, Integration Objects, Siebel Adapters, EAI transport adapters, VBCs SOA, WSDL, DTD, XSL. · Experience with configuring ODBC connections with Siebel/Oracle DB. · Provide experience with Siebel upgrades, & performance optimizations. · Good knowledge in using HTML, Perl, SQL and other scripting languages. · Understanding of hardware architectures (e.g., servers, memory, I/O subsystems, storage devices, virtualization, etc.). · Understanding of Network systems, including switches, routers, etc. preferred. · Experience with Global deployments with Siebel. · Experience with Remote Synchronization. · Experience with Tomcat application server platforms preferred. · Experience with webserver platforms such as Microsoft IIS preferred. · Siebel 7.x/8.x certification preferred. · Basic knowledge of FDA Validation preferred. · Basic knowledge in ITIL/Six Sigma preferred. · Solid understand of the technical infrastructure used at client. · Experience in all stages of system development life cycle. *Education and/or Experience: * Include the education and experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily. · Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field with systems experience preferred. · 8+ years of systems experience in developing and/or supporting applications to solve business problems. · 8+ years of Siebel architectural experience. · 8+ years of experience with Windows and UNIX administration/configuration. · 5+ years in a technical leadership role. · 5+ years experience with webserver technologies (i.e. Microsoft IIS.) and application server technologies (i.e. Websphere, Tomcat) · Must have expert proficiency in one or more application languages or tools, as well as broad knowledge in relevant ERP technology.
