This role contributes to the development, execution and maintenance of deployment plans and supports client initiatives for software rollouts. The Deployment Engineer will: Support and execute deployment procedures and all associated activities for releases, patches, and pre- and post-deployment support for the production environment Adhere to established processes for change management; contribute to status reports regarding change management and deployment activities Resolve deployment issues or impediments; document resolutions for future reference Provide recommendations on the tools and resources needed to perform successful deployments; coordinate and track progress of deployment teams Create and maintain project build, installation, deployment scripts and documentation Perform release management (all activities related to releasing new project version: SVN/GIT, Hudson, Maven, Artifactory, etc.) Release delivery and support in local and customer environments Compose, document, deliver and support release upgrade packages Maintain the virtual machines environment Communicate with Information Technology (IT)cross-functional team members to stay informed about the daily status of testing environments, builds and releases; plan deployment activities in conjunction with established project timelines and test schedules Fix all errors and bugs, research the origin of errors and recommend bug fixes; collaborate with engineers to determine root causes and keep problem resolution/issues log Maintain industry/technical knowledge base and facilitate/maintain industry relationships Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service Support assigned systems with on-call availability and respond within agreed timeframes The Deployment Engineer supports software deployment efforts with hands-on installation experience.
