Kindly review the below requirement and let me know if you are interested *Db2 version 9.7* *Minnesota* *6-12 months* *Skills Required * · 5-10 years proven experience as DB2 DBA on Linux or AIX, especially with large multi-terabyte databases with DPF. · Extensive experience with DB2 utilities, such as runstats/load/reorg/etc. · Experience supporting Business Intelligence data warehouse. · On-call support rotation. · Understanding of setting up proper maintenance of db2 databases such as backups, tuning, indexing, capacity planning, alerting etc. · Good knowledge of one or more of scripting languages: Korn Shell or Bash, Perl, Python. Familiar with both Command Line and GUI. · Good experience with DB2 query tuning with large data volume. · Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system, SAN storage. *Skills Desired: * · Candidate with both operational DBA and application DBA experience is preferred. · Knowledge of SQL Server related to administration. · Candidate with advanced SQL knowledge is preferred. · Candidate with DB2 Advanced DBA certification is preferred. · Candidate with certification of Linux/Unix/ITIL is preferred. *Job Duties:* · Monitor database health and perform the periodic database maintenance activities for the better performance. · Co-ordinate the database maintenance window activities with the system administrators for monthly OS patches and upgrades. · Support the application and ETL developers with the activities like performance tuning, troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving the database issues. · Define and develop the backup and recovery strategy to achieve the maximum database availability possible. · Develop and perform the business continuity plan (BCP) activities like Disaster Recovery (DR) exercise during every quarter. · Deploy the application changes and migrations effectively thru the change the process. · Tuning the long running and inefficient queries to achieve the better performance possible. · Install, configure and build the new db2 environments from out of the box. · Perform the physical design to build the new database objects like tablespaces, tables, sequences, triggers and indexes from the logical models. · Mentor the database developers and application users to follow the enterprise best practices. · Perform the database installations, upgrades and migrations. · Perform the capacity planning to acquire the storage required to operate the databases in the optimal fashion. · Participate in the database design review meetings · Monitor the daily ETL and report activity on the BI DW databases. · Create the monthly disk usage report for the BI DW databases. · Perform the proof of concept to test and implement the new features available in the new releases. · Consult the SAN storage folks to troubleshoot the disk/storage performance issues. · Automate the regular database maintenance activities like backups, runstats, reorgs and monitoring tasks.
