Job Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 6 Months Contract Rate: DOE Role: ORACLE DATABASE ANALYST/ DEVELOPER/ DBA Primary Skill Set: Oracle, pl/sql, linux, Oracle Stats Packs Please note: The required skills experience must be explained in the resume. Required Skills: * Minimum 3 years experience working with Oracle databases serving as a data analyst, data integrator, or DBA in a large-scale corporate or government environment. * Minimum 3 years experience using Oracle PL/SQL. * Minimum 2 years experience using Oracle Stats Packs, TKProf, explain plans, and Enterprise Manager to identify database performance problems and knowledge of how to apply findings to initiate corrective action. * Familiarity with Linux utilities that relate to database performance (e.g. SAR, IOSTAT, etc) with an ability to interpret the data and take corrective action to improve performance. * Ability to recommend practical strategies to reduce data bottlenecks, improves the efficiency of data flows and ETL processes, and improves database and application performance. * Experience designing databases with built-in referential integrity. * Knowledge of database security best practices. Preferred: * Experience with UNIX and Windows server administration. * Scripting skills using UNIX shell, Perl, and DOS batch * AS/400 skills * DB2 experience * XML messaging * Knowledge of NC Statewide Technical Architecture * Experience working with applications hosted by NC ITS Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: * A four (4) year degree in a technical field is required; Computer Science or Engineering is preferred with a minimum of 7 years of IT experience with large, complex applications, using a variety of distributed platforms connected through one or more middleware technologies.
