JOB SUMMARY A Quality Assurance Analyst will work as member of a small, newly formed QA team (comprised initially of a Manager and 1-2 Analysts). The QA Analyst will work closely with the Business Analysts, as well as developers and internal stakeholders, to ensure that our systems and software are built to specifications and meet our business requirements. All candidates must have extensive experience with developing and executing test cases and test scripts. An ideal candidate would also have prior experience defining/documenting new and existing testing processes, as well as a strong familiarity with automated testing procedures and tools. The role reports into the Manager of Quality Assurance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS o Work along with the QA Manager to manage the Functional System Test process and environment for each Technology release o Developing test cases/test scripts for newly implemented features o Executing test scripts across multiple test cycles o Entering defects that contain all information required for developers to reproduce an issue found into our defect tracking system o Tracking of issues until resolved and deployed o Assess the existing QA process and make recommendations to improve repeatability, effectiveness, and efficiency o Proactively recommend improvements to the management and documentation of the testing process o Support the assessment and selection of testing software (e.g., test process management, script automation) o Participate in the development of an automated testing framework o Define and document testing strategies for all new initiatives QUALIFICATIONS Candidate must be team-focused, results-oriented and driven to achieve a high level of client and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has experience in a large company as well as experience taking a small/medium sized company through a growth phase. Valuable experience would include developing an effective QA process and infrastructure, with a demonstrated ability to achieve high levels of product quality and improved testing efficiency for all constituents (e.g., developers, business analysts, and business users). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES o Expert knowledge of testing both web applications and enterprise software solutions o Expert knowledge of test management and automation software, and their implementation o Familiarity with web development technologies and open source software including, preferably, Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Ruby on Rails.
