As a contractor this individual will work with a team of developers on implementation of customized, complex programs and software solutions in a multi-platform distributed environment. Consults with IS and Business management to evaluate complex user requests and clarify objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs. Optize design, implement OO concepts and java best practices to ensure quality code and ontime delivery. Ablity to work well in a multi-site development environment (including offshore). Responsible for monitoring and maintaining ongoing performance of systems and develops updates or modifications according to business needs. QUALIFICATIONS: *Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities. *College degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience *10 or more years experience in applications programming; expert in Java and java related technologies. *Must have experience with Web Services, Spring, Hibernate, Webshpere *Strong Java OO development background with experience with J2EE design patterns. *Strong understanding of relational databases. Experience with Oracle, and Db2 *Experience working with the project management cycle *Demonstrated ability to develop customized solutions to meet business requirements *Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions *Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions *Excellent oral and written communication skills *Consulting experience with a service oriented attitude. *Familiarity with health care or PBM industry very helpful. *ESI experience*preferred.
