Title: Business Analysis - Data Warehouse Location: Jersey City, NJ Duration: 10 months Description: Performs and coordinates the analysis and design of business systems. Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of the needs of the assigned customer group from the business and technical perspective. Works closely with clients and with other system groups to capture business requirements and see them through implementation. Develops and executes systems testing. Acts as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups. Primary Responsibility: Experienced Business Analyst for External Reporting Program. The Business Analysts will be responsible for the review, comprehension and analysis of current state process maps and data elements/sourcing for all applicable products. Full participation in the project lifecycle which includes, requirement documentation, presentation, design architecture, MD050 documentation, use cases, as applicable and guidance on technical specifications. As the program progresses into implementation of technical consolidation/automation solutions, will be responsible for identification, drafting and executing test scripts and working towards defect resolution. Will also be responsible for end user training and any subsequent documentation related to process flows, functionality, operating model, etc. and implementation validation. The current toolset for this position consists of Excel, Visio, Quality Center, Business Objects, Oracle Discoverer, Access, and others as applicable. Responsibilities: Client Engagement Liaising extensively with business users and technology partners Understanding the business processes in order to improve the current process Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability and creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems Contributing to proposals for modified or replacement systems Liaison with the developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction Business Requirements Lifecycle Translating client requirements into highly specified documented business requirements, functional specifications, and use cases where applicable Creating/executing test scripts in Quality Center Testing new/modified systems as part of system integration and user acceptance testing Documenting defects in Quality Center and following up with the developers to ensure that the defect is fixed Writing user manuals for new/modified systems Providing training to users of a new system. The training could be individual or in groups Create prototypes / ad-hoc reports in reporting tools, e.g., Business Objects, etc, as a model for the business users as well as IT and understanding the underlying SQL code in order to communicate with the development team Skills: Strong technical experience with Business Objects XI, and Oracle Discoverer 10.4 reporting tools Strong Microsoft Office skills Excel, Access, Word, etc. Strong Visio skills Ability to multi-task Good communication skills, ability to understand the business processes and convey the business needs as requirement documents Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst. The experience should include a minimum of 3 years in the financial services industry. Must be a self-starter and work independently as well as in teams. Working knowledge of financial statements/accounting.
