Title: Scientific Data Analyst Category: Information Systems Location: Atlanta, GA Description: Realize the rewards of conquering a new challenge...Client is seeking a Scientific Data Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA. The qualified applicant will become part of Client’s team that supports the Center for Disease Control's Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention. CDC's HIV mission is to prevent HIV infection and reduce the incidence of HIV-related illness and death, in collaboration with community, state, national and international partners. Role and Responsibilities: Develop and execute SAS or SPSS programs for data analysis purposes. Develop and implement data cleaning, recodes, and composite variable programs utilizing either SPSS or SAS software. Communicate with CDC project staff on data cleaning and analysis related issues. Provide guidance on statistical methodologies. Use SAS or SPSS to perform secondary data analysis for project datasets. Create SAS or SPSS programs to conduct data analysis Maintain study databases. Assist in the development of assessment measures/instruments. Conduct data checks for ACASI. Assist sites/CDC Project Officers in data analysis. Assist in development of cost effectiveness measures. Run SAS or SPSS univariate, multivariate, and descriptive analyses of ADAPT datasets. Conduct outcome analysis of ADAPT datasets. Conduct site-specific analysis of ADAPT datasets. Assist in the preparation of data collection instruments for IRB and OMB submission. Assist in the statistical analysis plan and protocol development. Participate in conference calls and team meetings and communicate with CDC project staff and grantees. Collaborate with the Public Health Analyst on the development of comprehensive data sets for each assigned project site. Assist with the interpretation of scientific findings and manuscript development. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Public Health, Behavioral Science, or other Social Science degree. Experience with evaluation of HIV/STD behavioral prevention or other public health programs or interventions. Minimum 2 years experience and proficiency in SAS or SPSS. Experience performing analyses on behavioral data or longitudinal data sets, especially for HIV prevention studies. Proficient in data management procedures.
