The client is looking for a .Net/C# developer that has experience *converting
from VB6 to a .NET and C# environment*.  They will report to a technical
analyst who will research any information needed from the business or other
groups.

There are three levels of system that need to be developed on a .Net/C#
environment

o          Systems that contain good business logic and can be converted in
its entirety

o          Systems with some good business logic or are only partially
used.  Specific components will be identified for * .Net/C#conversion from
VB6 *

o          Systems without usable business logic.  These will be re-written
from scratch in a .Net/C# environment.

There is limited documentation on the existing systems.  This is why a
knowledge of VB6 is important so that the developer can use the source
system as their business and technical requirements.  All the data bases are
assumed to be correct and will be used as

The developers will “own” the conversion of individual, smaller systems.
They may also be assigned the modules of larger systems. systems.

Over time there is the possibility that this role may shift more from a
developer (80/20) to a support role(20/80).  In the near term, at least 12
months, this will be a primarily a developer role



*Required Skills*

•        .Net – 1-4 years – Primary development language

•        C# - 1-4 years – Primary development language

•        VB6 – 1-4 years – must be proficient enough to read and infer the
business requirements

•        MS SQL Server 2008 – This is the database underlying the
applications.

•        SSRS – SQL Server Reporting Services

•        SSIS

•        Able to learn, understand, and follow a formal SDLC

•        Creation of test scripts

•        Able to write and update technical documentation.

•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Would be nice
to see a written example.



*Desired Skills*

•        Oracle

•        Visual Source Safe

•        ChangeMandDS

•        ETL Experience



*Client Environment*

•        Background check and drug testing required.

•        The Nuclear is a close knit group that really appreciates people
who go above and beyond as a part of their normal work activities.

•        As with all development, there will be times when O/T is required,
particularly during deployments.

•        Rotating on call shift with a pager may be required
