We currently have a senior Data Center Design/Network Engineer position available with a client of ours *Summary* The Company designing and constructing a new data center facility in *Springfield MA*. The program is to be built in phases with the full program scope set for a Tier III facility with 40,000 sqft of computer room space. The design principles for the program are: SKILLS NEEDED: *5+ years in designing and supporting large Enterprise Storage environments.* *· 5+ years in IT consolidation projects, especially in the area of merging small/medium backup environments and implemented encryption technology for enhanced security.* *· 5+ years in technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuning of storage architecture and technologies for virtual and High Performance Computing environments. * *· 3+ years in assessing backup environments and proposed recovery strategy to provide complete data protection both on-site and at off-site data warehouses. * *· Expertise in writing technical documents and developing manual for SAN and NAS operations. * * * *· 3+ years developing strategies / working of Greening of IT* ***** Specific Experience Requirements ***** COMPANY is forming a design team for the program and with strict previous experience requirements for all members of the team. All applicants must have the following experience, clearly documented in a cover letter and/or * BOLDED* and *Underlined* in the resume of the applicant. All experience must be from the consultant’s last engagement or within the last 2 years. *Program Experience* · *Tier III Data Center Architecture Experience* – Recently worked on a Tier III data center of 20,000 sqft or greater as a design lead/architect for their role. · *Active/Active Data Center Design Experience* – Recently worked on designs for two active / active data centers providing various levels of continuously available services. · *Major Infrastructure Consolidation Experience *– Recently worked on data center designs that included major consolidation of IT infrastructure across the enterprise. *Business* o *Executive Communication and Advocacy** *– Developed all presentations for the designs, defined benefits/features/costs, and obtained executive and stakeholder buy in thru effective communication and advocacy o *Design Standards and Policies* – Developed standards documents based on industry best practices to support all designs, obtained buy in for standards, and published standards within the enterprise. Inclusive of ISO27001, HIPAA, PCI, IRS, FBI standards and policies. o *Design Process and Management* - define the design process/methodology for all designs work based on industry best practices, managed the design process, and provide oversight for the design process. Inclusive of best practice life cycle design models. *Technical* · *‘Next Generation’ Data Center Design* - Designing integrated application, network and data capacity estimates to design ‘next generation’ data centers inclusive of virtualized environments, high availability application infrastructure, integrated SAN & IP networks, and virtualized storage and backup/recovery systems. * * *General Experience* The successful candidates should have 10+ years experience in managing advanced architecture and design teams for large scale enterprise infrastructure projects. *Process:* o Experience in security design development five phases cycle, specification, design, development, testing and maintenance o Ability to research and design innovative architectures meeting stringent flexibility, resiliency, scalability, energy-efficiency and other requirements of large, critical infrastructures. o Innovation mind-set and follow-through innovation cycle (feasibility study, design, develop, experiment, deploy, validate) o Technical Project planning, and project management experience. *Technical:* · *5+ years in designing and supporting large Enterprise Storage environments.* *· 5+ years in IT consolidation projects, especially in the area of merging small/medium backup environments and implemented encryption technology for enhanced security.* *· 5+ years in technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuning of storage architecture and technologies for virtual and High Performance Computing environments. * *· 3+ years in assessing backup environments and proposed recovery strategy to provide complete data protection both on-site and at off-site data warehouses. * *· Expertise in writing technical documents and developing manual for SAN and NAS operations. * *· * *· 3+ years developing strategies / working of Greening of IT* *Education/Certification* · Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, BS/BA Computer Science or related.
