Web Services Development Team Lead position in Milwaukee, WI.

Duration: through 6/30/10

An experienced web services development team lead is needed to head our
Services Oriented Architecture Competency Center (SOA-CC).
The acceptable candidate must demonstrate current industry experience in
multiple areas of web services development, including the application of
policy standards, naming conventions, and standardized interoperability
between SAP/PI and other JAVA based components of a Service Oriented
Architecture. This senior position must demonstrate the ability to
collaborate with multiple teams and managers as new design/development
principles and standards are created from this competency center. This
SOA-CC lead position reports to the Enterprise Architect.

Core position requirements include:
•Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field of study
•5 years minimum experience in developing web services
•Demonstrated experience with multiple competencies including WSDL, SOAP,
REST, XML
•Demonstrated experience with services governance
•Experience with Windows and UNIX platforms
•Solid understanding of J2EE architecture and .NET design patterns, industry
best practices, and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA)
•Experience using source code version control systems and configuration
management concepts, techniques, practices, and procedures
•Experience with relational databases from a software developers perspective
•Experience with security technologies and concepts, including identity
management, single sign-on, directory services, and role-based access
control development experience
•Leadership experience in building standards and practices in line with
current industry technologies
•Team leadership capability
•Excellent written and oral communication skills are mandatory

Deliverables:
1.Review current SOA and web services development principles and standards
as provided by client and evaluate them for completeness.
2.Make recommendations for changes to these core documents based on the
contractor’s experience and with the approval of the enterprise architect.
3.Analyze sample web services development products from no more than five
operating unit development teams in house at the client, and determine fit
with industry design standards and existing client design principles.
4.Recommend corrective web services design changes and collaborate with
development leads within the SOA-CC to make those changes.
5.Lead efforts to build web services security standards for all current
development, across operating units.
6.Lead efforts to standardize web service naming conventions, across all
operating units.
7.Develop and implement a standardized services development and
implementation governance model (migration and approval process) that can be
adapted for each of our federated operating units.
8.Lead efforts to ensure web service interoperability between packaged
software solutions and other components of our service oriented
architecture.
9.Transfer knowledge to designated team leads and senior members of the
SOA-CC and train them in identified areas of industry standard and web
services development best practice.
10.Prepare weekly status reports, delivered to the Enterprise Architect.
