Must have a solid appreciation for data modeling and data architecture, any semantic layer-type construct used by the BI tool, done report building, some familiarity with the underlying components of a BI Delivery architecture (BI application, application server layer (presentation layer), and web concepts. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of business and IT organizations. Experience in with various SDLC methodologies. Responsibilities: Provide support to a core Data warehouse Technical team for ETL, BI and database solutions. Translate business requirements into data structures and participate in data rationalization activities. Recommend, develop, and enforce IT and database standards, guidelines, and procedures in order to facilitate quality assurance and document data requirements for database design. Schedule and participate in the data model and enterprise architecture reviews. Develop standards, guidelines, and processes to consistently address recurring issues such as data convergence, data duplication, semantic issues, and data integration/synchronization. Manage the data warehouse logical, physical, and canonical models, including data dictionary/metadata registry. Design, test, and deploy data integrity and other data quality mechanisms for the data warehouse. Adapt and implement data governance standards in the data warehouse environment. Job Requirements: List the education, experience, knowledge/skills/abilities required to perform the job. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree. A minimum of 7 years’ experience supporting database environments with a minimum of 5 years supporting enterprise data warehouse efforts. Comprehensive knowledge of data Modeling concepts including transaction dimensions, conformed dimensions and facts, slowly changing dimensions, multi-Star/ Snowflake Schema Modeling, different types of Fact tables . Hands-on experience in designing technical architecture, installation and configuration of BI Stack components. Must have a solid understanding of relational database design, SQL, triggers and stored procedures with two to three years of practical Microsoft SQL Server experience. Knowing the optimization of SQL queries are necessary. Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes and technology and experience defining, designing and implementing logical and physical data models. Experience with data warehouse technologies and/or back-end reporting systems and experience designing and developing data marts and/or data cube solutions. Must have good communication skills, the ability to create documentation as needed, gather business requirements and interact in a small team to build software solutions. Ability to quickly analyze and debug issues and resolve their root cause. SAP BI Suite experience a plus.
