Infrastructure Engineer Job Description- Infrastructure Engineer Location : Atlanta, GA Duration : 6+ months
Role Impact * Implement, support, and maintain Hardware & Software in the Data Center and serving as one of the highest levels of escalation for storage related issues. * Perform daily maintenance on Server Hardware units to ensure optimal performance * Make ongoing recommendations of storage and system configurations and standards. * Recommend technical solutions that will enhance performance, increase redundancy, and add flexibility to the existing infrastructure. * Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing * Maintain system availability and monitoring of services. * Analyzing the current Storage architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvement * Enabling an innovative approach to system architecture standards which greatly increase the flexibility, scalability, and reliability of IT services at a lower cost * Providing expert level storage engineering knowledge and counsel to others * Driving the analysis, design, and development of a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint * Developing, supporting, and communicating system engineering policies, standards, guidelines and procedures * Delivering highly complex projects using in-depth knowledge within the Data Center domain * Recommend, implement and enforce policies and procedures to improve the performance, scalability, and security of the infrastructure * Create technical documentation Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field and a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with the specific technologies related to Data Center * Advanced or expert level knowledge and understanding of Virtualization and Infrastructure Architecture * 5 or more years of experience designing solutions for large-scale data center environment * 5 - 10 Years of strong experience in Vmware, Linux, Windows etc., * Must have expert level knowledge of server hardware, virtualization, HA Clustering, Storage etc., * Proven track record designing, building, and maintaining highly available fault-tolerant systems * Knowledgeable on current IT technologies(Web Services, SaaS, IaaS, SOA, ESB etc.,) * Demonstrated understanding of SMTP, LDAP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP etc., * Experience working with App & Web Servers including IIS, .NET , Apache etc., * Knowledge of backup technologies, Citrix, OpenStack, Cloud deployments are preferred * Certifications in relevant areas.
