FIX experience • develop and direct the delivery of software programs including design, build and test in various software technologies, application programs for Trading and Portfolio Management applications • Support these mission critical systems and applications on a daily basis and troubleshoot production problems. Responsibilities • Leverage in depth knowledge of multiple (new and emerging) technologies to design and implement strategic technical solutions in accordance with business needs • Deliver innovate designs of high complexity which allow building a scalable end to end architecture • Accountable for providing estimates and logical work plan to deliver applications on time and within budget that meets or exceeds quality standards • Create the software’s architecture and/or employ rapid application development tools • Interpret written business requirements, functional requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop technical solutions that meet business needs • Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions • Perform system design and specification development, program logic and flow-charting that meets the stated project objectives • Identify resource needs and work with the Project Manager to build project team • Identifies and manages dependencies and downstream impacts of the project to minimize adverse effects on other projects and / or programs • Provide status and progress updates to Project Manager • Identify and communicate technical risks, issues, and changes • Perform coding to written technical specifications • Contribute to design review meetings with other members of Application Development • Perform complex defect verification, debugging, testing and support • Investigate, analyze and document reported defects • Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates that meet SDLC standards Qualifications \ Skillset Required Qualifications 1. 5-10 years of experience with object oriented programming in core java – OO concepts in java, data structures, algorithms, multithreading etc. 2. Experience with the following JEE technologies and related libraries - JDBC/Hibernate, JMS, Spring 3. Experience with Unix environment a. Commands and utilities, some monitoring and tuning. b. Ability to develop shell scripts or other scripts (such as perl/python) for data processing, job execution and monitoring. 4. Familiarity with Development tools (Eclipse, Netbeans etc.), design/UML tools, profiling/tuning tools, build/deploy tools (ANT/Maven) etc. 5. Understanding of enterprise architecture and operational procedures such as availability, recovery, archiving etc. 6. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience communicating with senior investment professionals such as traders and portfolio managers. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience with real time market data APIs (such as Reuters and Bloomberg) and experience writing market data processing applications. 2. Experience with any of the following systems is a plus in the order given –Vaadin, Camel/FUSE, Esper/Marketcetera, SAS/R. 3. Understanding of equity trading and portfolio management systems helpful a. Familiarity with order management, crossing, portfolio construction, reference data/market data etc. b. Other Skills – a. Very hands on, will be designing, coding and unit testing most of the time b. Strong analytical aptitude c. Willingness to be part of rotational support schedule and other operational activities d.
