*Title : Network Security Consultant Location : NY Duration : Longterm Telephonic and In Person Interview* *Need only US Citizen,GC or an EAD Only plz.......* Responsibilities: 1.Security monitoring, analyzing security alerts (primarily from IDS, IPS, Firewall, Windows, *NIX, Web Proxy, AntiVirus, NetQoS etc) using a SIM tool and escalating them to local support personnel. 2. Detect and handle worm/virus outbreaks. 3.Troubleshooting and deployment of IPS infrastructure; 4. Signature/firmware upgrades on IPS sensors; 5. Tuning IPS signatures; 6. Experience capturing and analyzing packets using ethereal, tcpdump or any other sniffer; 7. Review new security Vulnerabilities; 8. Perform vulnerability assessments/scans and assist with remediation efforts. 9. Recommend Best Practices to the client on all IT initiatives from a security perspective; 10.Good knowledge of Linux OS, including upgrading, patching, troubleshooting and hardening. 11.Act as Subject Matter Expert for security 12.Provide technical assistance with virus remediation 13.Perform forensic analysis for data/system breaches. 14.Ability to analyze windows and *NIX logs 15.Perform IT security and compliance (HIPAA) audits 16.Manage Windows security updates. Requirements: 1.6 year experience in IT with at least 4 years working as a security professional; 2.Experience with SIM tool (ArcSight preferred) 3.Experience with Cisco 4235 IPS sensors, Cisco IDSM2 blades, McAfee I and M series sensors. 4. Experience with vulnerability scanners (Foundstone preferred) 5.Experience with Firewalls (ASA preferred) 6.Experience with securing wired and wireless infrastructure both at core and perimeter level 7. Strong knowledge in TCP/IP protocol stack and networking; 8.Experience with various security tools, such as NMap, Retina, Nessus, fport etc 9. Administrative experience with RedHat, Solars, and Windows 2000 Server OS; 10. Working knowledge of scripting/programming (C++, Perl etc) 11. Team player with good interpersonal skills and customer facing skills 12. WSUS and or SCCM experience for deployment of MS updates 13. B.S in Computer Science 14. CISSP Must 15.
