*Title : Technical Architect Location : CA Duration : 18+ months* *Description:* • Apply "best practice" in developing complex application migration plans by matching clients IT architecture principals with business unit requirements through the adoption of virtualization technologies • Lead a team of technologists to perform detailed migration planning and move group design concepts supporting Data Center collapse or Transformation projects • Apply proven consulting engagement knowledge to guide client decisions on critical cutover planning efforts. • Articulate at a strategic level IT operational frameworks and how they apply to Data Center Transformation initiatives. • Integrate both the business operations and IT operational requirements into the end-state solution design, including virtualization technologies for Wintel, Sun and Unix platforms. • Build, develop and document infrastructure migration processes with a focus on technology growth, performance, reliability and security. • Understand the financial modeling components and concepts associated with data center consolidations. • Maintain industry awareness and knowledge with the latest tools and technologies to support server virtualization, consolidation and application migrations on an enterprise scale. • Have the ability to identify risks associated with production system migrations as part of data center consolidation frameworks. Define plans that show infrastructure innovation while architecting solutions with high-end integrity. • Build in-depth relationships with senior project stakeholders, client business unit liaisons, IT operations and IT engineering team leads. • Able to leverage key relationships to further advance the technical vision and strategy. • Lead and mentor assigned technology SME subordinates in implementing infrastructure projects. • Work with customers and project teams to integrate new systems into the end-user environment. 10+ years of Information Technology experience including data center infrastructure optimization and virtualization experience, including team lead and trusted advisor roles. • Senior Consulting and project delivery skills including project planning and project management skills. • Has proven and verifiable project experience with data center consolidations and optimization, preferably across a global footprint and with multi-million dollar budget oversight • Must have verifiable background experience in all phases of engagement lifecycle from requirements to implementation as well as the ability to translate a strategy into a tactical, transformational work plan • Competency engagement development experience (Minimum 5 years experience in a combination of): Data Center Redesign / Consolidation; Server Consolidation / Virtualization; Application Migration / Data Migrations to new platforms ( VMware, Solaris Containers, Linux & Unix). • Extensive move group or wave group analysis and planning expertise. • Experience collaborating with software development teams housed within client business units to ascertain application frameworks. • Experience with application migration processes, methodologies, and environments. • Process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation experience preferred. • Experience with VMware in large scale production environment.
