Please send the resumes at [email protected] Job Title: Cognos Administrator Location: Richmond, VA Duration: 3+ Months *In person interview* Upgrade Cognos servers; Perform various business intelligence enhancements and maintenance work; Cognos administrative duties; development of dashboards; support use of Cognos tools such as Cognos Workspace Advanced, Cognos Insight, Cognos for MS Office Contractor is primarily utilized in the Data Warehouse team to administer, install, upgrade, and configure the COGNOS software used in the Department’s data warehouse. In addition, this position will develop reports, dashboards, Analyses Studio cubes and Framework Manager packages as needed. A heavy focus is placed on mentoring other team members and adequately documenting all work and the technical environment. This position is responsible for: COGNOS Administration for: the Data Warehouse Portal, Group Security, Reports, Cube definition, Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Cognos Insight, and Cognos for MS Office. Installing, configuring, and upgrading Cognos software, including setting up load balancing. Of particular note is to install Cognos on new servers as soon as the contractor comes on site, which will include upgrading our current version fROM 10.2.1 to 10.2.2 Trouble shooting when problems occur, and helping to resolve performance and configuration problems Migration between our test and production environments Developing packages in Framework Manager when necessary COGNOS development of Reports and Analysis Studio cubes as needed and as work schedule permits, including sophisticated reports and dashboards Work as a team member for the completion of Data Warehouse Projects Mentoring team members to help them gain an understanding of the technical features of Cognos software at DSS Producing technical documentation in a professional manner that is sufficient for the team to understand our Cognos installation. Mentoring and knowledge transfer to full time Cognos Senior Developer Analyst once hired. Data Mart Involvement: Supporting role in Cognos tools and Analysis Studio cube creation for all data marts, including metadata modeling in Framework Manager.
